We have partnered with a wonderful new business here on the Eastern end of the Island (Nature Space Resort & Retreat Centre) to bring an exciting and intimate paddling weekend for folks! This kayak camp for adults is focused on creating a positive small group learning environment, with a focus on improvement and having fun. This event is intended for beginner paddlers with no formal training all the way up to developing paddlers that have had some formal training (up to Paddle Canada Level-1 Skills) – although all paddlers are welcome!!

This skill development weekend will be a great way to meet fellow paddlers as well as learn some new skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. All of our instructors are highly trained Paddle Canada certified instructors with experience delivering top-quality instruction. This event is limited to 18 participants, and paddler to instructor ratios never exceed 6:1.

This is a weekend event held on September 2-4 in St. Peter’s Harbour, PEI. There are a couple of ways to participate. You can simply join us for the paddling weekend or you can get the complete experience and stay with us on-site in the unique glamping accommodations at Nature Space Resort & Retreat Centre. We have put together a package deal so that folks can stay with us on site and enjoy the community that comes together around kayaking! Paddlers who choose to stay at the resort, receive festival discount. Please note that kayak and gear rentals are also available for those traveling or who do not yet have a sea kayak (with two bulkheads) and all the necessary gear (limited quantities)!

As the safety of our paddlers and instructors is our top priority, our schedules are always subject to change based on weather conditions and our group. Please see below for the tentatively planned event schedule:

Sunday Day Trips

Our Sunday Day Trips will be sessions focused on visiting a beautiful destination in Eastern PEI. This will include the natural sightseeing that will happen as we visit these locations, but we will plan to integrate some skill development and practice along the way. These sessions will be off-site and encourage us to visit new paddling destinations. You will need to travel via vehicle to the put-in locations.

We have a variety of beautiful locations we can explore and weather and conditions will dictate where we will paddle. Some options we will consider include; Paddling to East Point Lighthouse, Paddle & Hike Greenwich National Park, Boughton River Exploration, Cape Tryon Lighthouse and others…

Participants are not required to stay on site and can arrange for their own accommodations or travel to and from home if nearby. We do however, have multiple accommodation options here on site, which is a great opportunity to connect with fellow paddlers and immerse yourself in the paddling community. Our accommodations will be Authentic Mongolian Yurts at Nature Space Resort. The yurts are luxury camping pods and come outfitted with a Queen Bed as well as a Day Bed with a trundle (two twins). They have a wood stove for cool evenings and also a private hot tub on each of the decks. They sleep 2-3 adults and can be reserved for your group specifically. These luxury camping pods also have full access to our amazing building, “The Bee Hive,” which has two full kitchens and washroom and shower facilities for our yurt guests. Paddlers staying onsite also receive special pricing for the festival. If you would like this option you can secure these through our registration page for the event!
