Jason Richard

Jason has been paddling since 2013, and loves every opportunity to be on the water. He is proud to be entering another season as an instructor/coach with Cloud 9 Adventures. Jason loves all aspects of kayaking from leisurely paddles on a nice calm bay to playing around in more dynamic waters from kayak surfing to tide race play. He also loves the opportunity to “get away from it all” and explore through kayak camping and expeditions. Anytime you are on the water with Jason his dedication and passion for paddling shines through, he is happy to share any and all of his knowledge with folks new to the sport

Jason is a born and raised Islander from Summerside, but now lives in Charlottetown with his wife Renee and two daughters Hannah and Emma. By day Jason is an automotive painter in the collision industry and since the mid 90’s he has worked with the Centennial Auto Group.

Currently Jason is a Paddle Canada Level-3 skills paddler and always committed to learning more and increasing his own personal skills as a paddler. Jason is currently a Paddle Canada Level-2 Instructor and has served as the PEI Representative on the Paddle Canada Board of Directors as well as held a position on the Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Program Development Committee. He also holds his restricted operators card for marine VHF radio, as well as wilderness first aid training. Jason is also very proud to be representing Nimbus Paddles and Current Designs Kayak as a brand ambassador.
