Jarrod Gunn McQuillan

Jarrod Gunn McQuillan is the owner/operator of Cloud 9 Adventures and lives in Morell, PEI with his wife Heather, and their two children Finlay and Emma.  Cloud 9 Adventures focuses on offering high quality sea kayak coaching and instruction to all levels and abilities throughout the Maritime Provinces.  Jarrod loves the opportunity to introduce kayaking to first time paddlers, as well as work with individuals looking to develop and refine their skills. His personal approach and positive attitude make his programs fun and engaging.

Jarrod feels at home in the outdoors with a particular passion for being on the water.  Jarrod has been paddling since 1998, first enjoying the beautiful lakes and rivers of Ontario from the seat of a canoe with Heather. He started exploring the coast of BC by sea kayak in 2006, and has now found a home on beautiful Prince Edward Island.  Jarrod loves being on the water and welcomes any opportunity to share his passion for paddle sports.

He is dedicated to his personal skill and coaching development and has had pleasure of coaching at paddling symposiums and leading expeditions and paddling in rough water locations in Maine, British Columbia, California, Hawaii, Bahamas, Belize, and throughout the Maritime Provinces of Canada.  He is a proud member of the Stohlquist Canada Pro Team and is a Current Designs Kayaks Ambassador and Numbus Paddles Ambassador. Jarrod is also proudly the Regional Representative for Prince Edward Island on the Paddle Canada Board of Directors.

Jarrod is certified as a Paddle Canada Level 3 Sea Kayak Instructor and holds his Paddle Canada Level 4 Sea Kayak Skills and BCU 4 Star leader awards.  He is certified with Red Cross Wilderness First Aid, Marine First Aid and CPR level “C” and Transport Canada Marine Emergency Duties.
